San
Diego State University, with nearly 33,000 students, is the oldest and largest
university in San Diego, the third largest in California, and one of the
largest universities in the western United States. SDSU is classified by the
Carnegie Foundation as "Doctoral/Research University- Intensive." The
university is proactive in forming partnerships with business and industry, as

Sunny Southern California's
Finest City, San Diego County is a collection of communities with a population
of 2.6 million people, and San Diego is the seventh largest city in the U.S.
Situated in the southwestern coastal tip of the United States, San Diego is
approximately two hours from Los Angeles and only twenty minutes from Mexico.
San Diego is known for its temperate climate-the average year round is
74°F/23°C. (Average high in July is 77°F/25°C and 65°F/18°C in January.) There
are many beaches in San Diego, and plenty of water sports such as surfing,

beaches to desert to high mountains. Hiking and bicycling are very popular
